STATEMENT of PURPOSE and ORIGIN

The purpose of Spiritwind is to foster a spiritual community wherein all may find their own path to truth.  Spiritwind is neither restricted by creed nor bound by dogma.  Affirming the essential dignity and worth of all living things and the Earth, we search for knowledge.  While joining in fellowship to spiritually enrich our personal lives, we grow in the understanding of each other, our world, and ourselves.

In 1990, the minister of the Tehachapi Community Congregational Church, Rev. Rick Kuykendall, organized Spiritwind.  After he was called to another church, with his blessings and the support of the local Church, Spiritwind continued to function with lay people coordinating the programs.
