This Resolution Has Been Approved and Adopted at the UCC’s 38th General Synod in July 2011!
ORIGIN & PROCESS: The following resolution was conceived and formulated by Dr. Stephen Kaufmann, M.D., and the ad hoc Social Justice Committee of the Tehachapi Community Congregational Church –UCC. When finalized in September 2008, it was presented to the local Church Council, then endorsed by the congregation at its Annual Meeting on January 11, 2009. Subsequently, it was forwarded to the UCC’s Southern California/Nevada Conference, which brought it before its Annual Gathering in June 2010. There, it was adopted for submission to the of the United Church of Christ for consideration at its 28th General Synod. |
