Our VBS Rocks!     VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2012

“PEBBLES, ROCKS & DESERT”

July 9-13, 9:00 a.m.—12:00 noon     Ages 5-11 years

This will be a fun and exciting experience with the study of rocks, pebbles and discovering the desert. Come for arts and crafts—Geodes, rock painting, water fun, stories and songs. What kind of snacks and
refreshments will we include? Come and find out!

FELLOWSHIP GROUPS HAVE BEEN FORMED, but there is always room for newcomers! Call Lauire Betts, 821-1904 if you want to join a self-directed friendship group.

SWEET RECYCLING - In an effort to "sweeten" the rewards of recycling, some of our church members meet on the LAST WEDNESDAY OF EACH MONTH at the recycling station in Albertson's parking lot.  After "feeding" our recyclables into the machine, we then adjourn to Baskin-Robbins ice cream store for self-purchased treats. All recycling money will go toward our church's youth projects but people of all ages are encouraged to attend. Please note that Uncrushed cans are best because they are recycled at a higher rate (5 cents per can) than crushed cans. No bottles from alcoholic beverages are accepted. Of course, you may continue to bring your recyclables to Friendship Hall if you prefer. Our next recycling event will be on July  at 3:30 p.m. See Julie St. John (821-1070) or Rev. Diane if you have any questions.

FREE REIKI TREATMENTS: Reiki is a precise method for connecting universal energy with the body’s power of healing. Reiki is not a cure, but is a healing modality. It is recognized by the California Board of Registered Nurses for their Continuing Education. Dick & Esther Burdine were trained and certified in September 2000 as Reiki practitioners. They and others in our church who are certified will be offering free Reiki treatments in the CE Room on the third Monday of each month, rom 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. There will be articles regarding Reiki posted in Friendship Hall. If you have questions, please phone Esther Burdine at 821-2140.
